Authenticity

As the year winds down, do you find yourself thinking about the highs and the lows in anticipation of making a few new year's resolutions?  The one thing that resonated most with me over this past year was authenticity.  I noticed that some people are amazingly authentic no matter the situation or people they encounter.  Then there are others who are still finding their own way (but at least they are looking).

What really struck me was those who weren't trying to be authentic and in fact, were playing different versions of themselves as a way to conceal, fool, or manipulate situations.  There will always be times we need to adapt ourselves to others but you can do this while remaining true to the real you.  Have you experienced this?  How did you handle it?

I would love to hear about it! Anissa

Have a holly jolly ..

Despite my financial loss last week, I am doing my best to maintain my spirit of giving.  And my hope for a white Christmas!  Yes, even at my age, I still become a ten-year old this time of year and wish to wake up Christmas morning to see a new white blanket of beauty when I open the curtains.  Don't you?!  The little girl inside is alive and well, all through the year.  Next month, I will wish that blizzard-like conditions will mean school (i.e. work) will close for the day so I can go sledding.  Ahh, do you remember those days? If so, please share, Anissa

Tis the season for thieves ….

Guess I am not as smart as I thought.  I made the horrible mistake of trying to sell some furniture on Craig’s List (do not blame site in any way) and was taken for a scam.  Even with a certified cashiers check, I was taken for $2000.   This is money I do not have, especially not at this time of year.  I have had such optimism about the internet, the world, people.

This disheartens me greatly. It’s a very sad holiday for me as many gifts now have to go back, etc. because I don’t want to put myself into a situation where I cannot make payments or other checks bounce.

To all of you out there, I truly hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Better than mine Smile
